I Wayan Bayu Anggara
Program Officer
As a professional with a background in Biology and extensive experience in environmental education, community empowerment, and program administration, I Wayan Bayu Anggara has been actively involved in developing various educational and conservation initiatives across Indonesia, including in West Kalimantan and Southwest Papua.
Proviously, Wayan worked as a Project Officer for Papua at the Alam Sehat Lestari (ASRI) Foundation, where he is responsible for managing administration, finance, and coordination of activities with local partners and stakeholders.
In addition, Wayan previously worked as the Environmental Education Coordinator at ASRI, where he developed environmental education curricula, facilitated training programs for teachers and students, and established collaborations with the Education Office and the Environmental Agency of Kayong Utara Regency. In this role, he successfully integrated aspects of conservation, health, and education into community activities surrounding Gunung Palung National Park.
Wayan has experience in monitoring, reporting, and program data management, including preparing TORs, financial reports, and monthly activity reports. He is recognized for his strong communication skills and his ability to coordinate effectively with government institutions, program partners, and local communities.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Tanjungpura University, Wayan possesses a strong scientific foundation in nature conservation, ecology, and environmental education. His research on The Use of Plants as Canang Sari Offerings by the Balinese Community in Kayong Utara was published in the Bioma Journal of Hasanuddin University.
In addition to his technical expertise, Wayan is skilled in public speaking, training facilitation, community engagement, and digital communication. He is proficient in using Canva, Microsoft Office, PhotoScape, and basic video editing tools to support educational and environmental campaign activities.
Through his experiences with non-profit organizations and community movements such as ASRI Foundation and Earth Hour Pontianak, Wayan strives to contribute to environmental education, nature conservation, and community empowerment. He believes that environmental preservation can go hand in hand with community economic development, particularly through a sustainable coffee sector that protects rather than harms nature, to support the creation of a sustainable living environment.
