Mahmud Rifai

Mahmud Rifai completed his undergraduate program at the University of Lampung, majoring in the Agribusiness Department in 2017 with several experiences as a lecturer assistant, research assistant, and casual field interpreter. After completing his undergraduate degree, he started his career as a Coffee Agronomist at PT Nestle Indonesia in 2017. While working at Nestle, Rifai was actively involved in empowering and developing coffee farmers in Tanggamus and West Lampung Regencies, which included farmer training programs (farmer field school, farmer business school), 4C (Common Code for the Coffee Community) certification program, demonstration plot development program with an intercropping system, and preparation for the implementation of the forestry pillar program (a coffee farm with an agroforestry system). After completing his contract at PT Nestle Indonesia, Rifai continued his master's degree at The University of Queensland Australia by taking the Master of Agribusiness program in early 2022. During his master's degree, Rifai was actively involved in academic activities as a Casual Academic Tutor and received 2 times of the Dean's Commendation for Academic Excellence. In non-academic activities, Rifai was trusted as chairman of the Indonesia- Gatton Student Association, committee of the student association for LPDP scholarship awardee for LPDP Kelurahan Queensland Raya, as well as became a Casual Field Research Assistant at the seed research company named Pacific Seed Australia.
